There is much value in studying history. Once a person studies history, one can understand how the world really works [1]. Another saying is: “If you want to know tomorrow, you must know yesterday”.
The world history can be available in fairly useable details for the last 10,000 years [2]. The more recent 1,000 years and 500 years are in more details and accuracy than earlier. However, more and more discoveries become available through the unearthing of ancient and archeological work. which adds accuracy to more ancient history.
Nevertheless, even 500 years study of history is better than 10 years, and 1,000 years would be better than 500. History repeats in similar manners because the innate human characteristics, emotions and behaviors does not change even though the physical environment changes.
Studying and understanding human behavior in a collective society or as a nomad, provides the key for future trends. Understanding trends helps to anticipate, plan and be better prepared. Anyone who is prepared has already won half the battle.
